Round the World with Dan

HULLO. I am Dan, and long long ago, in another century, I decided that travelling round the world might be a lot more fun than sitting in Birmingham doing nothing. So that's what I did - for nine months in 2000.
After the ugly incident with the shark, Dan later learned to look where he was going
The plan had been to go straight to New Zealand but, as you will soon learn, I am easily persuaded to change a plan, so the journey began in Chennai in south-east India (Madras to most of us). From there I moved on to Thailand, Hong Kong, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and the US before finally shouldering my backpack for one last time and heading home.

I hope you enjoy some of my mumblings, and some of my photos.

The tour starts here:
India: Chennai (Madras), Kochi, Kerala, Goa (i), Goa (ii), Mumbai (Bombay)
Thailand: Bangkok (i), Bangkok (ii), Bangkok (iii), Bangkok (iv), Chiang Mai (i), Chiang Mai (ii), Chiang Mai (iii), Uthai Thani, Bangkok (v).
Hong Kong: Hong Kong (i), Hong Kong (ii).
Japan: Osaka, Nagasaki, Hiroshima, Kyoto, Tokyo.
Australia: Sydney, Broken Hill.
